Getting There

Accessibility

Vision impairment
Braille is provided on all room door signage and fixed directional signage throughout the venue. MCEC is guide dog friendly and welcomes any registered assistance dogs into all areas of the building.

Assisted hearing
Most meeting rooms within the Convention Centre are equipped with TTA Hearing Assisted telephones and hearing assisted devices available to hire free of charge.

Wheelchair access and hire
There are accessible toilets, ramps and lifts throughout the venue, including lift access from the car parks. MCEC has a limited number of wheelchairs that can be loaned to you for the day on a first-come, first-served basis and also have a wider wheelchair available if required.

If you’d like to hire a wheelchair or a hearing assisted device, you can call MCEC Customer Service team on +61 3 9235 8000 or email at enquiries@mcec.com.au or contact the Conference Team directly during time of registering.

Assistance animals
Assistance animals are permitted inside the venue. Due to limited space between seating rows, we recommend requesting a wheelchair bay with a carer seat to provide more comfort for both patron and animal during time of registering.

Sustainability

MCEC is proudly officially Sustainable Tourism Accredited, having demonstrated sustainability achievements and commitments to delivering high quality services.

The first convention centre to be awarded a 6 star green rating, MCEC is also EarthCheck Platinum Certified.

ICDS 2026 is working closely with MCEC to ensure the Symposium is sustainable across all aspects, from food, setup, transportation, energy use and waste management.

The menus at MCEC are designed to celebrate the simplicity, inclusivity and vibrant culture of the region of Victoria. Showcasing local, sustainable produce and native flavours.

Single use plastics will be eliminated from the venue by 2025, and MCEC proudly donates excess food to OzHarvest to divert waste.
