Join us for an in-depth exploration of current practices and future directions in celiac disease screening.
The annual screening symposium aims to achieve the following objectives:
Review current data from ongoing global general population screening studies.
Discuss the potential benefits, risks, and knowledge gaps associated with general population screening.
Develop research priorities and a policy roadmap to advance celiac disease screening globally.
The annual celiac disease symposium, now in its third year, is organized by Sadie Nagle, Marisa Stahl, and Edwin Liu of Children’s Hospital Colorado. The symposium is intended to foster coalition-building and accelerate advancements in mass screening science.

Sadie Nagle
Sadie Nagle, MS, RD, LD, is a pediatric registered dietitian at the Colorado Center for Celiac Disease (Children’s Hospital Colorado). Her professional focus is on supporting individuals in managing a gluten-free lifestyle by applying clinical expertise and practical solutions. Her research interests include evaluating approaches to enhance dietary adherence through integrated care with psychologists in pediatric populations and validating gluten-free diet assessment tools for use by registered dietitians in both clinical and research settings.

Marisa Stahl
Dr. Marisa Stahl is the Director of Research at the Colorado Center for Celiac Disease (Children’s Hospital Colorado) and an Assistant Professor at the University of Colorado School of Medicine. She is a pediatric gastroenterologist with a focus on celiac disease clinical care and celiac disease screening research in both high-risk groups and the general population.

Edwin Liu
Dr. Edwin Liu is the Director of the Colorado Center for Celiac Disease (Children's Hospital Colorado) and a Professor of Pediatrics at the University of Colorado School of Medicine. He co-chairs the Celiac Disease Committee in The Environmental Determinants of Diabetes in the Young (TEDDY) study and is an investigator in the Autoimmunity Screening for Kids (ASK) general population screening program for CeD and T1D. He is also a member of the ISSCD board.
